Usman Danfodio University Sokoto (UDUSOK) to Graduate 12,282 Students, 113 Bag First Class

The Usman Danfodio University Sokoto (UDUSOK) will on Friday graduate 12,282 students with 113 of them bagging First Class degrees.
Its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, said this at a news conference yesterday in Sokoto as part of programmes to mark the combined 35th, 36th and 37th convocation ceremony of the institution.
Breaking the categories of the Degrees into understandable units, Prof Zuru said, 135 of this number will receive PH, D: 770 to get Masters Degree: 96 to get Postgraduate Diploma while 10,994 will receive First Degree. 287 graduands will also get Diploma and another 109 students will receive various prizes for excellent performances in their respective disciplines.
The VC further noted that of the 12,282 graduands for the 3 combined convocation, a total of 113 will be graduated with 1st Class Degrees, 2,375 had Second Class Upper, 6,603 Second Class Lower Degree, 1,556 3rd Class while 347 leaving with Unclassified class of Degree.
Prof Zuru also added that, the Emir of Gwandu, HRH Alhaji Mohammed Iliyasu Bashar, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Sheik Muhammed Mujtaba Isah Talata Mafara will all be conferred with various categories of Honourary Doctorate Degrees during the convocation.
He added that 2 retired Professors of the institution will also be honoured with Emeritus Status because of their dedication to UDUS and Nigeria at large .
Those to be so honoured according to the VC are HRH Dr Mohammed Zayyanu Abdullahi, Emir of Yauri (Chancellor Emeritus and Ambassador) Prof Tijjani Mohammed Bande (Professor Emeritus).
